Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
I am a bit of a worrier, yet Jesus tells us to trust in Him and not to worry. How do we do that? The scripture says, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes” (Luke 12:22-23) Faith means trusting in God enough to let go of your daily worries.
Is it possible to get through the trials and tribulations of life without worry?” The answer is yes. If you trust in God’s word, he will carry you. In Mark 4, Jesus talks about the parable of the sower and the seed. He compares the Word to the seed; some receive it with joy and produce a healthy crop while others have no root and eventually die. Life is no different; some people are receptive to the Word and the teachings of the Bible, while others choose to turn a deaf ear.
Living a worry-free life means trusting in the Lord with all your heart. “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13) Jesus does not expect perfection; his love for us is unconditional. If we keep our eyes focused on God, He will take care of us. “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” (I Peter 5:7) With God on our side – there truly is no need to worry.
